Maurice Lucas

One of Oregon's most loved athletes passed away yesterday.  My parents had season tickets when Maurice was with the Blazers.  He was an incredible player.  He as the Enforcer, along with Bill Walton, led the Blazers to their only NBA Championship for the 1976-1977 season. 


Maurice also later became an Assistant Coach for the Blazers.  He called Portland his home.  And it is in Portland that he passed away yesterday of bladder cancer. 

He was only 58.
