Week 31, 2011

Happy August!!

I love August.  In Oregon, although you might get a day or two of rain, August IS our summer.  This week is going to be nice.  No Doctor appointments.  Nothing pressing for LL.  What is in the plan?

Monday, Today Bailey and I went to Salem.  LL saw an add on Craig's list from a woman who has no insurance and is in great need of ostomy products.  One pouch which cost pennies to make, cost depending on the type you need, 10 to 20 dollars a piece.  Most people need to use 3 to 4 a week plus paste, powder, rings etc.  Because I had such great insurance, it was not financially a great burden on me.  When I had my reversal, I had about 20 pouches, 2 tubes of paste, two powders, and half a box of rings.  I estimate around $500.00 dollars of supplies.  I did not want to throw them away so I kept them around and waited for someone in need.  I am so glad I did.  I met the lady in Salem and she was so thankful for supplies to get her by for the next couple months.

After meeting her there, Bailey and I went to Costco for only the basics.  Toilet paper, my Depends, etc.  Then we went to the new Trader Joe's.  I was disappointed that most of the Trader Joe brand foods have gluten in it.  Even items that did not need it.  Like frozen prawns.  I did buy soap, frozen bars, and a bottle of wine.  But find I wont make a special trip there for items.  If I happen to be driving by and stop for something, well ok, but doing a special trip to Whole Foods who are so much more gluten free friendly is worth it.

Tuesday, my friends are coming over for coffee.

Wednesday, if my digestion behaves, Kris and I are planning on taking the scooters out for a long ride in the morning.

Thursday, I am planning on getting the weekend preparations done for the weekend.

Friday, LL starts a few days of vacation.  Homer Days are starting today, so LL and I will have fun looking at art and listening to music.  Normally I like the food there, but that was before being gluten free.

Saturday, go the Homer Days parade.  Spend the day listening to music and picnicking at the park.

Sunday, Miller's Crossing is the plan.  We will hopefully, (weather), camp from Sunday to Tuesday or Wednesday.  Looking forward to more than one or two days at Miller's Crossing:)

Week 28, 2011

Well, LL is back to work this week.  I enjoyed his company last week so much that I wasn't looking forward to getting back to my hermit existence this week.  But boring is not what I would call my morning so far.

Today, Monday-LL off to work, and I decided to get moving and catch up on cleaning kitchen and doing laundry.  As I was loading the wash, I look out the window, and there is Hannah, Henrietta and Harriet running around the driveway.  Sh!T. Dang, Son of a B!ct# !!!   I clipped there wings, the gates were closed, so they are getting out underneath the fence somewhere.  Well this isn't my first walk in the park, this is not my first rodeo.  I know scratch, bread or vegetables won't entice them to follow me into their small coop, so I brought out the big guns.  I opened the fridge and grabbed my gluten free, unprocessed, off the bone ham I had intended eating for my lunches this week.  6.99 a pound, I might add.  I also yelled to Bailey "The chickens are out, I need your help".  Well she was still in bed because she had friends over to swim last night, and for some reason I still think is nuts, they all went to Salem at 1:00 this morning to get something to eat.  Oh well, the price sleeping beauty has to pay is to get up and help this coop keeper wrangle these freedom seeking poultry.  So my neighbors have quite the sight seeing me with my ham, playing pied piper, and Bailey from behind them, in her robe, shewing them into the yard and then coop.  I called LL and told him, do not come home with out something to fix the fence. 

Well after that, I dropped Beau off at the groomers, Yes, photo's to follow, went to the bank and back to figure out where I was before the chicken detour.

Tuesday-I am having coffee with a friend.  Hope to spend the rest of the day with Mom.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday-No appointments, no sibling having tests or a hospital stay (I HOPE). 

This next weekend is the Purdy Picnic.  It is one Sunday and I am looking forward to it.

Week 27, 2011

Happy Belated Independence Day!  I took a week off from the computer.  Not just this blog.  No Facebook, No e-mail, etc.  No reason in particular.  Just didn't feel like spending time in front of my laptop.  But we went camping Friday and Max didn't take a break.  Even camping he likes writing on his laptop.

Rufus did well camping.  Must say his favorite part of camping is his walks, and he had be dragging behind him.  I guess he was walking me.

Mom, Karen, John, David, Kris, Steve, Rett, and my kids came up on Saturday.  We had dinner and then went and played bingo with several hundred other campers.  We did not win anything:(  But it was fun.

My Kids stayed overnight and we had a good time around the campfire.

The next morning, after breakfast, everyone but me went to the river and some even got in to swim.  When they got back, we packed up and got home late afternoon.

The next day was the 4th and we went to Kris's for breakfast, watched the parade in Mt. Angel and the swam and had a barbecue at Davids and Karen's houses.

Tuesday, LL is on vacation all this week.  So he took my mom to the casino while I had my friends over for coffee.

Today, Wednesday-Not sure what we might be up to today.  Last night we clipped the chickens wings cuz they keep getting out of our yard.  I noticed then how bad the nests are, so I will probably clean them and get rid of the weeds in the garden.

Thursday, LL and I might go up to our campsite overnight.

Friday, come back because Saturday is the Staab picnic at my brother David's house.  It has been years since we got together with this side of my family, so it will be fun seeing everyone.

Week 26, 2011

We had a great weekend at the campsite.  I will post some pictures in next post. 

This week I need to wash the towels and clothes from this last weekend and pack them up for this next weekend.  I also need to get more organized and make sure I pack well for this holiday weekend.  As we have been running low or running out of quite a few things in our RV.  So along with getting ready for the weekend, I have a few commitments for the week.

Today, Monday-LL and I have a meeting for Max at 4:00.  This is about his work and it is time to make some changes.  4:00 is a very tricky time for my "digestion" so I will go early and wait at Mom's. (she lives just around the corner) and make sure I'll be safe before going to the meeting.  If not, I hope LL is not late.

Friday-First thing in the morning I have a meeting for my sister Kathy.  Then I will finish getting ready to go to the camp site.

Week 25, 2011

Good Morning!

We had a good weekend.  Saturday, it was rainy.  LL and I worked in spurts and was a bit lazy.  I used the weather as an excuse to get gluten free meals in the freezer for myself.  So I barbecued a couple chicken thighs, made a roasted vegetable soup and also used leftovers.  Made rice and baked potatoes.  So I have 6 meals in the fridge for an unexpected meal.  We then went to Mom's and had peach drinks with Mom, Kris, Steve and Kara.  Actually I had wine, since I don't think the peach drink was GF.  We watched home movies.....I needed to see and hear my dad's voice.  A bitter sweet evening.

Sunday, Father's Day.  I made breakfast for LL and the kids, we watched an old movie with Kane.  And around 11:00 we all got busy and went to work on the yard, pool, hot tub, etc.  That is basically what LL wanted for Father's Day.  Help getting ahead on the work outside.  So Kane mowed, Max swept and picked up debris and Bailey worked at scrubbing the hot tub.  She had the worse job of the bunch.  I helped her, cleaned around the pool, and worked inside.  LL worked mostly on the pool.  So now the place looks better, hot tub is up and running, and the pool will start to be filled on Tuesday evening.  So what's up this week.

Today, Monday-Bailey has the day off so I think we might work around here and also run to Salem to visit my sis, Kathy.

Tuesday, I am brave and made a coffee appointment with a friend.  I need to just plan on spending time with people and if I have to cancel at the last minute.....So be it.  I have 4 different people I have been meaning to get together with.  Kayli from Sitka is one.  Pam, my friend I am meeting Tuesday is another.  I have friends that have been patient with me but  me not keeping them a priority is not a good thing.

Wednesday-I need to get ready for a couple days away to Miller's Crossing.

Thursday-I am hoping when LL gets off work, we will head to the camp site.

Friday-Camping

Saturday-depending on the weather, might stay camping or might come home.

Week 24, 2011

We had a good weekend.  Saturday, we went around our place, inside and out, collected things for a load to the dump.  LL and Kane took it.  I stayed home and cleaned the garage a bit, made GF brownies and trimmed and debudded some rhodies. 

Sunday, Bailey and I ran to Salem to buy some clothes since I have put on too much weight for a lot of my wardrobe:(  I found a dress and a couple tops at Target and Ross.  I have been resisting spending money frivolously lately, but I couldn't resist buying a bento (tiffin) at target and then a small tiffin at World Market.  Photos of my prized tiffins will follow sometime this week.  Max had another stomach issue.  Don't know if it is another bug.  But I am thinking I need to look into gluten issues.  Gluten intolerance is very common with people with Autism and can be genetic.  So, he may be a lot like me:(

Then we went to our friends Michele and Chuck's home for a graduation party for their son Devin.  I have known Devin since he was four.  He was the sweetest boy and has grown up to be a fine young man that his parents are proud of.  I am too.

 So for the rest of the week, well, I am going to be flexible and be available for my brother David who is having surgery.  But this is what I know for sure.

Monday-Going to Silverton Hospital which is just around the block from my house, to be there before David goes into surgery.  I will probably go back and forth to Max and the hospital through out the day.

Tuesday-IF and I do mean IF the doctors release David, I will take him home and spend the day with him.

Wednesday-If David still needs help, I will be at his house.

Thursday-I will get things ready to go to Campsite if the weekend looks good.  Need to cook GF food ahead of time

Friday-If the weather looks good, I will finish packing and go to the campsite. (I hope, I hope).

Week 23, 2011

LL and I had such a fun relaxing weekend with Steve and Kris.  We went for a long walk along the river, we visited at the pool and enjoyed the hot tub.  We had a lovely dinner and listened to good music.  And then took our time coming home.  Stopping often to let me enjoy the views and snap some pictures.  By the time I got home, I knew I was glutenized.  Note sure if it was the bite of crouton that went in my mouth the night before or a gluten free breakfast that had cross contamination.  But by early afternoon, by the time I got home, the rest of the day I had accidents and pain.  Not pretty.  But I feel so much better this morning.

Today, Monday-I have already got my walk in, been to the store for dog food, cleaned the kitchen and made a yummy dinner in the crock pot for dinner.  I need to do a few things outside but am working inside the house for the most part today.

Tuesday-I have a meeting for my sister Kathy first thing in the morning.  Then I will run some errands for LL and I.  Just going to make sure I don't eat breakfast and wait till I get home for lunch.

Wednesday-???

Thursday-Again no breakfast because I have an appointment with my Oncologist mid morning.  I am always nervous going to either of my cancer doctors, and I have to see both of them this month.  Still if everything is OK, it will be a big milestone in the remission timeline:)

Week 22, 2011

Well, to say my weekend was a disappointment is an understatement.  LL and I took our time getting to the camp spot.  Arrived around 1:00 and he was ready to take a nap before 2:00.  That was OK by me, because I had a hot coffee, a good book and a fire to sit by.  Watching the weather change within seconds.  Beautiful blue sky with fluffy clouds, then whoosh, rain clouds roll in and drizzle with an occasional down pour.  This went on throughout the evening.  Still I was hoping for better weather.  Saturday morning was the same but it did eventually dry off enough for us to get the tents up.  We were expecting the kids later in the afternoon. 

Then it happened.  Don't know how exactly, but LL injured his back.  At first just a slight pain but then it increased.  So by the time the kids arrived, he wasn't feeling so hot.  Still he took a long walk with Bailey, Rett, Max, Kane and Rufus, while I stayed by the campfire.  While they were gone, the thunderstorm arrived.  I am still surprised they were not wetter when they got back.  We made hamburgers and steak over the campfire and Coleman stove.  Kane went home that night.  Rett and Max slept out in the tent, Bailey, LL and I in Marlin.  Around 4:00 am, LL's back was beyond painful but after pain medicine and a move to a different bed.  He managed to sleep a little longer.  I knew then though that our camping time was over.  There is no way he was going to last till the end of the weekend.

So after breakfast, we broke down camp and was home by noon on Sunday.  LL nursed his back the rest of the weekend and hobbled to work this morning.

Today, Tuesday I already went to Salem and got my blood test done.  I have an appointment next week with my Oncologist so this is my week of waiting and hopefully not worrying too much.  It's raining here right now, so for the rest of the day I will clean and do laundry.

Wednesday is my sis Kris's birthday.  So I hope to run over to her house for coffee in the morning before she heads to work.

Thursday, suppose to be nice weather so outside I will be.

Friday, Beau gets gussied up by Vicky his groomer.

Who knows exactly what will go on this week.  Hopefully Mom will stay on the road to recovery and so will LL, but we will see.

Week 21, 2011

LL and I kept busy this weekend.  Friday night, I watched the first episode of the final season of my beloved Larkrise to Candleford on PBS.  The season has only a few episodes, so I am savoring it.

Saturday morning, LL and I went fishing.  I caught one right away, but it was too small, and we just had bites after that.  We got home just in time for LL to go to the pet parade.  I didn't make it this year.  The rest of the day we worked on the garden.  Too bad I didn't read comments on my blog before this, because my niece had some chicken wire to give us.  We ended up buying a small roll to protect against the very rude and ravenous chickens.  We took a scooter ride to my mom's house.  That evening, LL took Max to a dance and they both had a good time.

Sunday, I went to Kathy's home to celebrate her birthday, went out to lunch.  LL spent that time trimming hedges and working around the yard.  When I got home, I refilled the vases with fresh lilacs.  Just a few more days before they wither.  I love how fresh the house smells when the french doors are wide open, and lilacs are in every room.  I so wish I had fresh flowers blooming all year to bring inside. 

Later in the afternoon, Bailey and Rett took Max to our local theater to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean.  Boy, Max was so excited to go and was so happy when he returned.  I guess the movie was great.

This week I hope to set up a time to have coffee with Kayli from Sitka.  Looking forward to meeting her in person. 
Monday, today, I have some more garden plants to pot for our balcony.  And need to start planning food for this next weekend.
Tuesday, I am going to try to pop in and see Kathy for her actual birthday.
Wednesday, I have an important meeting for Max.  About his work and home staff.  Really hoping this meeting goes well.
Thursday, I will be finishing up getting ready for a few days at Millers crossing.  LL and I are planning on going even if it rains a little.  If it is a totally storming weekend, we will stay home, but a little rain never hurts anybody.  Especially Oregonians!  I will bake, premake some food, pack up, and get my chicken coop cleaned out.
Friday, LL has the day off so we will go to our camp site in the morning.  I am hoping Kane or Bailey brings Max to us on Saturday afternoon.  And even better, I hope Kane and Bailey stay a day or too.  We will have tents set up in case someone wants to visit.  There is always room in Marlin, but I know both Kane and Bailey are tent campers.

Week 19, 2011

My Grandpa Purdy was always amazed how my hubby, LL, was always able to make a great car deal.  That was a trait my grandpa appreciated.  Well, LL still can make a great deal.  And with the existance of Craigs list, it just has gotten easier.  LL and I have decided to sell our van.

It has served us well, but since the kids are now grown, well we really don't need it.  I was thinking of getting a good on gas second car, but as I don't drive around much and I have my scooter, we decided maybe a mid size pickup would be a better choice because we are often scrambling around trying to borrow some body's.  So on Craig's List our van was posted, and with in minutes we had calls coming in.  LL was upfront about what work it needed and he had himself started shopping for a truck.  Well by the end of the day, he found someone needing a van for his ailing wife, and had a truck to trade.  They made a deal, but the man did not have the title and LL said he didn't want to make the trade without having the title.  So maybe today, or tomorrow, we will make the trade.  I guess that means I will be driving a truck around to pick up my chicken feed and dog food. 

Monday, today I am needing to clean my chickens nests.  Bailey does not have class and goes to work later, Kris is off today too, so I hope I do something with one or both of them.  I am holding off eating till I know the plan.

Tuesday, I am going to get some stuff done outside since it will probably rain the rest of the week.

Wednesday, I might be spending the afternoon with brother David.  Not sure on that. 

Thursday, I have a few things I want to get done in Marlin, the RV, because I am thinking he will go back to our campsite this weekend since LL fixed everything on it.

Friday, I hope we go to the campsite.  Even if it is raining a little.  If it is a full blown storm, we probably will wait.

Week 18, 2011

LL worked on Marlin this weekend.  Spent Sunday night watching the new about the death of Bin Laden.

Monday-Kris, Bailey and I went to Salem with Mom for her eye appointment.  Afterwards, we went to Costco and out to lunch at MacGraths fish house.  I chose well for my gluten free diet, but the salad was not the best.  We still had a good time and tons of laughing.

Tuesday-Today, cleaning and a possible trip up to Whole foods.  Really need to get lots of organic, affordable produce and some gluten free products.

Wednesday-Go to Whole Foods if I don't make it on Tuesday.

Thursday-Suppose to be a nice day and if so, I am outside all day.  Gardening and riding scooter.

Friday-Since I am not sure what the weekend holds, I am not sure what Friday will bring.

Week 16, 2011

A little late with this weekly post.

Monday, yesterday-Kris and I did our yearly Guardianship Report for Kathy.  Bailey had the day free so we went to Salem and got a few things at Target.  I started having "issues" so we went home and my day was done unfortunately.

Tuesday, Today-I need to do a few things around here this morning and then I will probably spend some time with my Mom.  She has a bit of a bug and is not feeling well.

Wednesday-Suppose to be a dry day so I will be working outside.  Also, do you remember the documentary I went to Portland to see.  I AM  The director Tom Shadyac will be on Oprah this Wednesday.  So I will make sure to watch it.

Thursday-I need to get a few things ready to take to the RV and work around the house.

Friday-LL and I will be going to the camp spot.  We will be putting some more gravel down.  Smaller size that is used for tent sites.  We will come back Saturday afternoon, as it is suppose to rain anyway.  I will spend the rest of the day getting ready for Easter.  Keeping Easter low keyed this year.  I am not having everyone over this year for a couple reasons.  I haven't been feeling great in general and also with all my food issues, I don't feel I am ready to do a lot of cooking and risking contaminating my kitchen and getting sick.  We will spend a little time with family, just more informal and low keyed.

Week 15, 2011

This week, again, at the mercy of the weather.  Plan on getting a lot done Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, inside, outside, and in Marlin.  So I will be busy no matter the weather, I just would rather be outside all week.

Thursday, I am having scans done.  This requires me to drink lots of barium, so I can pretty much plan on all of Thursday and half of Friday having digestion "issues".  Please pray that I have good results.

Depending on the weather this next weekend, LL and I have work to do at our new camping spot.  We could of picked out a spot that already had improvements, but that would be too easy for LL and I.  Yes sirree.  No, we chose our spot more for it's location.  It has neighbors on both sides but none in back and none in front.  It also gets a bit of afternoon sun, which is rare at this park.

Because the previous occupants only kept the sight so they could use the river access, it is moss covered, small logs to move and some gravel to bring in.  If weather is good on Saturday, Kane said he will spend the day helping us so it will not take very long.  Some people have their whole lot graveled.  LL and I want ours a bit more natural than that so we will try to keep a good part of it covered with moss and ferns.

Week 14, 2011

What a nice weekend we had.  For the most part the weather was great.  A bit cold but sunny with only a couple showers on Saturday.  I put laundry out on the line, planted seeds for snow peas and basil, sowed some old seeds of wildflowers in a bed that nothing really grows well in so might as well try that.  LL put new swivel seats on our little fishing boat.  (I can almost taste the trout).  A little yard work, a little cooking.  And we took the scooters out for a ride and drove by Kayli from Sitka's new home to see if they have arrived.  I don't think they have.  Kayli blogged and they did arrive safely on Friday and are having fun exploring the area.  We were not going to stop anyway, don't think she needs me knocking on her door for the first couple weeks of such a big move.  The guys went to Kris's to watch the Blazer game while Kris, Mom and I at mom's, watched Mildred Pierce. 

Monday, Yes!  It is that time again.  Beau gets groomed and you will have to suffer with new pictures of him and a new bow or maybe he will get a bandanna this time.  It is what I live for:)

Tuesday, Mom is having a procedure on her eyes.  I think my brother is taking her but I want to be at her house when she gets home in case she needs help.

The rest of the week, I hate to even speculate.  My slow week last week, ended up busy helping David. 

I am not sure what the weather holds.  I really should get things done in the house but frankly, my health and mood feels so much better if I am outside.  We will see.  Have a great week.

Week 13, 2011

Had a good weekend.  Stayed home for the most part.  LL did a few things on my Honey Do list.  I ate very carefully so I had no major "issues".  I did get a craving for something sweeter than fruit, so I made a flourless chocolate cake that turned out really good.  I liked the recipe because there was no weird ingredient.  I was able to go into my cupboard and just put it together.  Found a gluten free vanilla ice cream at the store to put a little on top.  Glad Bailey and LL like the cake also, because far too big for me to eat before it goes bad.
This week..............

Today, Monday, washing all the sheets on beds and getting a little done around here.  Then I have another meeting in Salem for Kathy at 3:00.

Wednesday, I might be going with my mom for an appointment. 

The rest of the week, I will be at the mercy of the weather.  Really wanting to get some stuff done outside.  Even if it rains, I will be doing a bit in the greenhouse. 

I am finding it easier to cook and bake gluten free, but because it all is still so new, it takes a lot more planning and researching every ingredient to make sure there is nothing hidden.  So every soup, stir fry, casserole, dish, I carefully prepare.  But so worth the effort. 

Week 12, 2011

I had a nice and uneventful weekend.  Bailey is in California.  The wedding she went to in San Diego was beautiful on Saturday and the day of fun at Disney Land on Sunday was a drenching affair.  Last time she went with my Mom and my siblings, it rained.  So I think Bailey is bad luck for the weather in Anaheim.  She comes home later this evening.  LL will be picking her and others up.  LL and I spent a little time this weekend on scooters, he went to the dump, I did gardening.  I got my raised beds turned and aged steer manure put on.  I have a busy (at least for me) week ahead.

Monday-LL is home so more work around here, we will take Mom to her eye doctor appointment later in the day.  I also need to fill out and fax some forms that Kathy's new lawyer has asked me to do.  She is requesting a court hearing on Kathy's behalf.  Please pray about this for Kathy's sake.

Tuesday-I have a doctor appointment with my cancer surgeon.  This includes a very invasive examination.  So I need to not eat dinner the night before, no breakfast on Tuesday, and yes, two enemas.

Wednesday-If "digestion" allows, I am taking Mom to the eye doctor for a procedure first thing in the morning.  Bailey is my back-up for this in case I can't take Mom.

Thursday-I have a meeting for my sister Kathy at 1:00.  This will require no eating for breakfast or lunch.  Too important to miss because of "issues"

Friday-This is my only open day and I am sure I will have a lot to do.

Week 11, 2011

What is up with the weekends.  Started the weekend with a nice clean organized house, but by Monday morning, I find myself knee deep in laundry, dishes and dirt.  So...........

Monday, today, I am just going to get the place back into shape.

Tuesday, I need to grocery shop and in the afternoon I am going out of town over night with Mom and Kris.

Wednesday, I get back late afternoon.

Thursday, I hope the weather is nice because I want to spend most the day out in the yard and garden area.  And maybe, just maybe getting Marlin ready.

Friday, Bailey needs to get to the airport because she is going to San Diego for a wedding.  And then maybe, just maybe a couple days in the RV.

Week 10, 2011

Good Morning!  I am going to need to make this a fairly quick post because I have to get going pretty early this morning.  Well early for me.  Yes I know I am always up way before dawn.  If fact, sometimes I feel I am meeting myself going to bed at night while getting up.  Did that make ANY sense.  I don't think so.  But still, in the mornings I usually have a long time to get my brain and body moving.  But this morning......Oh I mean......

Today, need to get bathed and ready, chickens and dogs taken care of and then I am out the door a little after 7:00 to get my blood test for cancer markers.  I am seeing my surgeon in 2 weeks, usually the chemo Dr asks for this test a week a head of his appt. but my surgeon  wants to  have this done this time and asked for it to be done two weeks before appointment.  So I will have 2 LONG weeks to wait for results.  After getting the test, I have to go to a meeting for my sister Kathy in Monmouth.  Yes, another meeting.  I have contacted a disability rights advocacy organization and hope to hear back from them today.  Kathy, because of lack of funding, is being "exited" out of her own home.  Things are very dire.  Kris and I are under great stress about this.  Since Kris has gone back to work, I am going solo at this meeting.  I am sick to my stomach.  If I feel up to it after I am done with meeting, I will stop at Lifesource, a health food store that I hope to find a few ingredients my local store does not have.

Tuesday, Since I am done with deep cleaning the kitchen, bathrooms, and laundry room, it is time to start on the master bedroom.  Yikes.  to do this right, I will need some help moving the bed to clean under and turn mattress.  This room I am planning on doing on Tuesday but it will take longer than one day if I am to go through all the clothes, boxes and clean everything.  And frankly, I will be happy if I even get this done at all  this week.  Really not looking forward to it so I could easily get side tracked and end up not doing it at all.

The rest of the week is up in the air.  Really don't know when we will actually go RVing and have given up trying to guess.  I do plan on going to library, exercising more, cleaning out the green house.

Week 9, 2011

Oh my, did we have a wind storm last night.  This time, no trees down.  A year and half ago, Silverton had a freak wind storm.  I was up in Portland recovering from surgery.  Bailey was home alone, and a neighbor's tree fell into our kitchen.  LL luckily got most of it fixed before I came home. 

Today, I am staying home, catching up on laundry, cleaning, and hopefully deep cleaning one of the bathrooms.  I use to do a big spring and fall cleaning 2x's a year.  I would spend a solid week from sun up to bed time going through every cupboard, cleaning every corner, washing every window.  Frankly, I do not have the stamina right now for that.  So I am picking one or two rooms a week and deep cleaning every corner.  When I am all done, I will be putting a fresh coat of sealant on my hard wood floor.  I figure since my house is big, I will be done by Easter.  And that's OK.  So both bathrooms with get a well deserved scrubbing this week.

Tomorrow is the start of the Real Food Challenge.  I hope to have a full and complete list of whole foods made today, because Kris and I might be going up north towards Portland tomorrow.  I want to go to Whole Foods store to pick up a few things I can not get at our local grocery store.

Wednesday, I am keeping open.  It is Kris's last day off from recuperating from surgery.  If she has no plans, and my "digestion" continues to behave, I am hoping we can do something fun together.  I have enjoyed having her company a lot over the last few weeks.  I am going to miss not feeling quite as alone during the weekdays.

Thursday, if LL and I decided to RV somewhere this weekend.  I will spend Thursday making sure the RV is ready to go, and prepare what foods I can.  We will not be taking any prepackaged, convenience foods because of the challenge, so my regular RV meals will not work.  And because of my elimination diet, even steak can not be on the menu.  My body is not ready to bring meat back into my diet.  I am having doubts that I will ever be able to tolerate any meat other than fish.

Friday, if we go RVing, will have me getting the house straightened up and making sure Max is good with having Mom and Dad gone for a couple days.

LL's birthday is coming up.  I need to start thinking what I would like to give him.  Don't have a clue right now.

So that's the upcoming week.  By the way, I watched the Today show this morning.  Watched an interview with Charlie Sheen.  It is even obvious to me that if indeed he is not high, than he is either going through a Manic episode, drug induced schizophrenia, or some other mental illness.  I hope someone in his life can help him.  Don't know why I feel the need to even comment on some Hollywood person but it was actually painful to watch him in the interview.

Week 8, 2011

I am never sure which is better....Having plans to look forward to in the week, or having nothing planned.  It is nice to look forward to getting out and doing something outside of home, but I must say, when I have appointments during the week, I am nervous ahead of time worrying if I will eat the right foods, eat at the right time, take the right meds, etc. to be able to make the appointment or meeting.  So, for this week, except for Beau's grooming appointment, I have nothing and nowhere to be at a certain time.  I think I am a bit relieved.

Today, I took Beau to be groomed and will blog about it.  During his grooming, I kept busy with Marlin and LL, who has today off, kept busy getting frustrated. (A blog post soon to come).  The weather this week is not suppose to be good.  Rainy and even snow in the forecast.  I hope they are wrong.  Really want to get some photography time in.

I am not sure what next weekend has in store.  A nice first weekend for the year out in Marlin would be nice.  Hint, Hint, LL!  But we will see.

So I guess we will see what will happen for the week.  I already have 2 or 3 posts planned just from today's happenings.
